Dartington Crystal

Dartington Crystal began in 1967 in rural Devon, England, as a bold experiment by Scandinavian glassmakers and local visionaries. Their mission: to bring modern Scandinavian design to British glassware. With backing from the Dartington Hall Trust—an organization devoted to social and artistic innovation—the brand quickly gained acclaim for its clean, contemporary style and handcrafted quality.

What set Dartington apart was its fusion of tradition and innovation. Each piece was mouth-blown by skilled artisans, yet the designs felt fresh and minimalist—perfectly capturing the spirit of the Swinging Sixties. Over time, Dartington became a household name, gracing tables and gift boxes across the UK.

Today, while many brands have moved to mass production, Dartington Crystal remains committed to craftsmanship. Still based in Devon, it’s one of the few UK companies where you can watch glassmakers at work—shaping molten glass into timeless pieces.

More than just glassware, Dartington tells a story of artistry, legacy, and the enduring appeal of British-made design.
